Things you will need:
1 earthenware pot
1 yellow cloth
1/3/5/9 types of grains (any quantity, half for donation and half to keep)
Rice
Khadishakkar (unrefined cane sugar)
Chandan paste (sandalwood paste)
11 cowrie shells (kowdi)
2 lotus seeds (kamalgatta)
2 cardamom pods (elaichi)
8 betel leaves (paan leaves)
2 cloves (laung)
Kapoor (camphor)
Ghee lamp (diya)
Roses and yellow flowers for decoration
Instructions:
Wash and dry the earthen pot before the ritual.
Put a dot of Chandan, turmeric, and kumkum (vermilion) separately on each betel leaf.
Lay the yellow cloth on an altar in a circle, with the betel leaf stems pointing inwards.
Draw a Swastik symbol on the pot with Chandan mixed with turmeric. Add some haldi (turmeric) and kumkum.
Place all the ingredients (except rice) in the pot and fill it with rice.
Hold the pot near your chest with both hands and chant 'Om Shree Mahalakshmiye Namaha' 11 times.
Place the pot on the betel leaves.
Decorate the pot with roses and yellow flowers.
Light incense, camphor, and a ghee lamp with two cloves in it.
Play chants of your preferred god/goddess.
Before sleeping, take some rice from the pot and add it to your rice box. Put 8 grains in your wallet.
Cover the pot and place it securely in your locker before sleeping. Lock the locker.
